GUITAR
Christos Vernardos is currently the artistic director of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamaria, after numerous years of working experience of teaching guitar classes, conservatories and music schools, due to his strong leadership skills, good planning and calm nature. He was born in Thessaloniki, where he studied guitar under Athanasios Leontaridis and Fotis Baxes, advanced theory under Chronis Papamoschos and Vasiliki Tsekouropoulou and composition with Costas Bravakis.
Regarding further academic education, he is a graduate of the Bachelor of the Arts department of the University Of Indianapolis Athens Campus Of Greece, under the in- ternationally renowned soloist Costas Cotsiolis and of Mälardalen University of Sweden, under the supervision of the guitar teacher Per Skareng. He is also a graduate of the postgraduate program of the Ionian University in the department „Composition for Cinema, Theater and Performing Arts“, taught by the Professor Dimitrios Maragopoulos. Additionally, Christos has attended seminars with famous composers, guitarists and music educators.
He has written vocal, instrumental music as well as music for theater and animation and has participated in CD productions, music festivals, musical theater performances, book presentations, etc. In recent years, he has been creatively composing music for Greek poetry and writing songs based on verses by notable Greek lyricists, as well as his own.
Despina Arvanitidis
GUITAR
Despina Arvanitidis, an accomplished guitarist, is an experienced and enthusiastic session musician, very often acknowledged for being very ambitious and hardworking, and for showing very strong communication skills on many occasions. Despina was born in Stockholm, but originally comes from Greece, which makes her capable of combining two different cultures in music. She began her classical guitar studies under Anestis Hatzopoulos, continued at the Municipal Conservatory of Thessaloniki in the class of Evangelos Assimakopoulos (Degree) and later on at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki in the class of Costas Cotsiolis (Diploma).
She also studied Advanced Theory of Music with Elli Hatzikiriakidou and Vasiliki Tsekouropoulou. She graduated with Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts Degrees from the Mälardalen University of Sweden in the classical guitar class of Rolf Le Fleur and Per Skareng. She is also the holder of the Master’s Degree „Guitar Pedagogy“ from the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University supervised by Professor Costas Cotsiolis. She is currently active educationally and pedagogically by preparing students for a higher level of studies, teaching classical guitar at the Music School of Katerini (Secondary Education), the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamaria and the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki.
She has also attended various seminars with famous guitarists and composers at international guitar festivals. She gave recitals in Greece and abroad, and has taken part in music festivals, musical theater performances, book presentations, album recordings, etc.

Деспина Арванитидис, истакнута гитаристкиња, искусан је и ентузијастичан сесијски музичар, често хваљена због своје амбициозности, марљивости и јаких комуникационих вештина.
Деспина је рођена у Стокхолму, али пореклом је из Грчке, што јој омогућава да комбинује две различите културе у музици. Студије класичне гитаре започела је код Анестиса Хацопулоса, наставила је на Општинском конзерваторијуму у Солуну у класи Евангелоса Асимакопулоса (основне студије), а касније на Новом конзерваторијуму у Солуну у класи Костаса Коциолиса (диплома).
Такође, студирала је напредну теорију музике код Ели Хацикириакиду и Василики Цекуропулу. Дипломирала је као бакалавр и магистар лепих уметности на Универзитету Мелардален у Шведској, у класи за класичну гитару Ролфа Ле Флера и Пера Скаренга. Такође је магистар „Педагогије гитаре“ са Одсека за музичке студије Јонског универзитета, под надзором професора Костаса Коциолиса.
Тренутно је активна у образовању и педагогији, припремајући студенте за више нивое студија, предајући класичну гитару у Музичкој школи у Катерини (средње образовање), Општинском конзерваторијуму Каламарија и Новом конзерваторијуму у Солуну. Похађала је и разне семинаре са познатим гитаристима и композиторима на међународним гитарским фестивалима. Одржавала је реситале у Грчкој и иностранству, и учествовала на музичким фестивалима, у музичким позоришним представама, презентацијама књига и снимањима албума.
